Anna Ruby's sons were adopted by Joe Tyrell after he married her. Her first husband dropped dead in the street in Charter's Towers following a tonsillectomy (he haemorraged) Anna Ruby was left with two boys Ken and Melville under 4 I believe. Melville (husband) was the publican at Praire Hotel and once he died she had no income and could not hold the licence.

She died only about 6 years later and the boys were raised by Joe Tyrell I think one of Ken's sons is currently the mayor of Townsville but I have to confirm that. Melville her son was killed in WW2 in a flying boat accident.
